2023 Board Nominations

The IIDA Southwest Chapter Board of Directors has recently appointed the Nominations Committee for the 2023 year.  The Chapter has gained momentum in the last few years and in order to continue growing and strengthening the Chapter, additional volunteers are needed.  If you are interested in filling a position or would like to nominate a peer, please complete this form by FRIDAY, February 10th, 2022.

ELECTION PROCESS

The IIDA Southwest Chapter is governed by a Board of Directors, consisting of elected voting Officers (President, President-Elect, and seven Vice Presidents) and a number of appointed Directors.  All Officers are elected by Professional members in good standing.  The President appoints all Directors.

The Nominations Committee will research each nominee’s eligibility and interest in serving as Officers.  A nominee must be an IIDA Member in good standing for at least twelve consecutive months prior to election to office and demonstrate a depth of experience at the Chapter level in the interior design profession and the business community.

All elected positions serve a two-year term, except for the President, and President-Elect.  The President and President-Elect may not serve more than one consecutive full term in office.

The Nominations Committee will assemble and submit a Multiple Slate of Candidates to the Board of Directors, and the current officers will vote to determine a Single Slate of Candidates in March 2023.  Once a Single Slate of Candidates is approved, an Election Ballot will be distributed to all Southwest Chapter Professional and Associate members in March 2023.

The new Board of Directors will be announced at the IIDA Southwest Design Awards and will take office beginning July 1st, 2023.  Attendance at the bi-annual board retreats is a requirement of all board positions. Attendance to the New Board Member Orientation is required by those not having served on the board in the previous 3 years prior to their new board term. The summer board retreat will be held July 14th – 15th 2023 in Phoenix, Arizona.

*President-Elect will automatically be nominated for President for 2024-2025 and Immediate Past President for 2025-2026.
**Director positions are appointed by the President.
